Chapter Policy Number 009 – Manager Credentialing
The policy of the Chapter is to support the credential of Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) bestowed by the Community Associations Institute NBC-CAM as the minimum standard for all persons who manage community associations in the Western New York Chapter.
While the chapter cannot enforce this standard, it recognizes the importance and value of this education and training and will encourage managers to attain this credential. The chapter will encourage management company executives to support this effort with their employees with the expectation that new manager hires will earn their credential within one year of employment. Finally, the chapter will encourage association boards of directors to direct their contracts to those managers who have shown a dedication to upgrading their industry skills.
This credential, which includes a continuing education requirement and recertification on a two-year basis, attests to the unique requirements of managers of community associations.
